Selena Dowd, 19, and Ashleigh Sullivan, 31, were spotted stealing items by a sheriff's deputy investigating prior larcenies at the Target store on South Gateway Drive around 12:45 p.m. Friday, Jan. 26, county sheriff's David Decatur said.

"As the suspects passed all points of sale and attempted to enter the end zone, deputies quickly moved in," Decatur's office said. "Their plan worked better than the Baltimore Ravens and both suspects were detained without incident."

During a search, deputies found "a lot" of stolen items and fentanyl on Dowd, and heroin on Sullivan, police said.

Both women were charged with possession of controlled substances, and shoplifting. Dowd was held on a $2,500 secured bond while Sullivan was held without bond both at the Rappahannock County Jail.
